1. Backlinking is an easy way to increase the number of visitors to your blog or website (and also increase search engine rankings, see about google page rank secret). This is nothing more than having your site address listed on other websites generating traffic back to your site (see about inbound and outbound links). Backlinking can be done in a number of ways. Following is a short list of ideas to get you started.

2. The first, and easiest, is to use article marketing. Write a few articles and submit them to free article directories. At the end of each article, use a signature line that includes your web address.

3. Double the impact by using social bookmarking sites such as digg, reddit, del.icio.us and others to submit your article information to.

4. Another technique is done through online classified ads (link to great free classifieds site under Resources heading). Here you will place brief descriptions of your site and your site url. Just be sure that when you are listing your site to use your site address, don't use a text link leading to your site, such as "Click Here To... It is important that the address itself is listed.

5. These few ideas alone can have a huge impact. Repeat these steps every week or so and you should see your number of visitors increase over just a short period of time.
